More than 100 exhibitors, 1,500 attendees and a packed lineup of panelists and guests speakers participated in the 2018 MN AG EXPO, Minnesota’s premier indoor agricultural exhibit that concluded Thursday in Mankato, Minn.
MANKATO—The DieselSellerz, stars of Discovery’s “Diesel Brothers” show, appeared at MN AG EXPO Wednesday to meet fans and preview the truck the foursome is building for the Minnesota Research & Promotion Council.
The latest round of the weekly DieselSellerz sweepstakes and meet-and-greet winners have been announced and notified. The weekly winners received DieselSellerz merchandise, while the meet-and-greet winners will have dinner with the DieselSellerz, stars of Discovery’s Diesel Brothers, on Wed. Jan. 24 during MN Ag Expo.
Mike Youngerberg, who has spent more than 30 years working on behalf of Minnesota soybean farmers, most of it on biodiesel, was recognized by the National Biodiesel Board (NBB) for his years of leadership in advancing the Minnesota biodiesel market.
Many would say the 2014 implementation of 10 percent biodiesel blends in diesel fuel in Minnesota was a success. The Diesel Hotline didn’t receive any major calls about biodiesel, and testing by officials with the hotline showed no problems with biodiesel.
The Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council (MSR&PC) has glad tidings for its Chinese customers: Minnesota farmers are already producing soybeans that meet the new China foreign material (FM) requirement, stating shipments must be one percent or less.

One question I was asked recently had to do with Restricted Use Products (RUP) and dicamba. In Minnesota, Fexapan, Engenia and XtendiMax are currently the only restricted use dicamba products in the state. The RUP designation requires the applicators to be certified; i.e. possess either a private applicators certification or a commercial/noncommercial pesticide applicators license. After the individual has become a certified applicator, they should attend the mandatory dicamba training. Currently, the dicamba trainings will be requesting your license or certification number to ensure the training is properly credited to the correct individual.
