The Minnesota FFA received a $3,455 donation at the 2016 Minnesota State FFA Convention in St. Paul. The donation is thanks to the Real Yield Game sponsored by LibertyLink® and Bayer. Select state FFA organizations who participated in the competition will share in a $50,000 contribution.
“Bayer and LibertyLink® continue to make a difference in our fields and the community,” said Val Aarsvold, executive director of the Minnesota FFA Foundation. “We are thankful for their commitment to improving the agricultural industry as a whole.”
Minnesota FFA helps its members develop skills and explore their interests in a broad range of career pathways through their experiences in agricultural education.
“Congratulations to the Minnesota State FFA for your effort to lift grower participation. We’d also like to honor their community. They’re the reason why the Minnesota FFA won a $3,455 donation,” said Senior Sales Specialist for Bayer, Doug Sandmann.
Twenty-eight state FFA organizations participated in the challenge. The chapters promoted the online Real Yield Game to growers within their states. The more growers playing determined the donation values for their respective states.
Each state FFA organization encouraged participation while they competed against 28 states for $50,000. The Minnesota FFA helped particpation with promotional emails, banner ads, social media posts and handouts. This enabled them to win the fifth largest donation through increased participation.
The Real Yield Game is the first social instant win experience sponsored by LibertyLink®. In the game, growers competed for instant prizes of LibertyLink® seed and a grand prize one-year tractor lease with John Deere®. LibertyLink® committed a donation to an FFA chapter for each game play.
To play, participants simulated spraying soybean fields with Liberty® to see the superior control the LibertyLink® system provides.
