The Minnesota Soybean Growers Association (MSGA) congratulates Rep. Angie Craig on her election as the ranking Democratic member on the House Agriculture Committee.
“We are very excited to see Rep. Craig have a bigger role on the House Ag Committee,” MSGA President Darin Johnson said. “MSGA proudly supports her efforts because Congresswoman Craig appreciates that agriculture drives our economy, improves our environment and protects our national security. She’s a true bipartisan voice in Washington, D.C., for advancing agriculture.”
Rep. Craig, who was reelected in November to represent Minnesota’s Second Congressional District, has been a strong ally of farmers since arriving to Congress in 2019. Congresswoman Craig has a record of putting partisan politics aside to promote policies that benefit farmers, including strengthening rural America’s connections to federal programs and resources, advocating for a new Farm Bill and supporting the biodiesel tax credit. Her consistent advocacy for higher blends of biofuels led USDA Sec. Tom Vilsack to honor Craig with the title of “Biofuels Bulldog.”
“Angie Craig is a model for the kind of representative Minnesota needs in the U.S. House,” said MSGA Director Bob Worth, who served as president from 2022-2024. “She is on the side of farmers.”
Craig’s GOP colleague Brad Finstad, who serves Minnesota’s First Congressional District, also sits on the House Ag Committee. Along with Craig, Sen. Amy Klobuchar is the ranking Democratic member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, which will be chaired by Sen. John Boozman in 2025.
“Rep. Craig has proven time and time again that she’s willing and eager to do whatever it takes to advocate for agriculture,” MSGA Executive Director Joe Smentek said. “During this pivotal moment facing agriculture, we look forward to working with her in the year ahead to put producers in a position to prosper.”
