Meg Corp’s Hoon Ge will be on hand to discuss biodiesel as part of the 18th Annual Minnesota West Technical College Xtravaganza event March 19 at the Minnesota West Canby Campus.
“The diesel students started the Xtravaganza fundraising event 18 years ago to raise money for scholarships, special tools and field trips each spring,” said Peter Girard, Diesel Technology Instructor at MN West. “It is also a way to showcase the newest equipment, technology and inform the general public about biodiesel and the programs we offer.”
The Xtravaganza event runs from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event will allow prospective students to shadow multiple programs, including Diesel Technology, Dental Assistant, Electrician and Wind Energy Technology.
New this year, the all-day event will also include educational presentations about each field, which is open to the public. The Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council is sponsoring MEG Corp to present about farm fuels and biodiesel.
A Whopper Feed Fundraiser will also take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The proceeds will go directly to the Diesel Technology program.
