Farmers Reminded to Secure Bins

An Elysian man was arrested April 10 after investigating a grain bin theft last December. Le Sueur County Sheriff David Tietz said that Daniel James Fleming, 31, of Elysian was arrested after being accused of siphoning 500 bushels of soybeans, valued at $5,000 from a grain bin site in rural Waterville.

The Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council is reminding farmers to secure their bins, check for tampering and report any suspicious activity to authorities.
