Near-Infrared analysis allows farmers to see beyond oil and protein.
With a growing demand for higher quality soybeans, the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council (MSR&PC) has joined with the University of Minnesota and Perten Instruments to offer a free complete soybean analysis to all Minnesota soybean farmers.
“Using Near-Infrared (NIR), this analysis allows farmers to look beyond just oil and protein content,” said Art Killam, Research and Plot Coordinator for soybean breeding and genetics at the University of Minnesota. “The analysis also looks at the level of moisture, fiber, amino acids, fatty acid and sugar, with a very quick turnaround.”
If interested, only 1-2 cups of soybeans are required for testing. To receive the analysis for free, use the keyword “Minnesoyta” when submitting the sample.
