Indomitus, DieselSellerz take victory lap at Elko Speedway

After a triumphant appearance in August, a pair of DieselSellerz returned to Elko Speedway for the Bandit Big Rig Series Finale on Saturday, Oct. 13.

Also making an encore was Indomitus, the 6×6 Ford F550 truck custom built for the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council (MSR&PC).

“The Big Rig Series has become a marquee event for our organization to talk about the benefits of biodiesel,” says MSR&PC Director Jim Willers. “The folks at Elko Speedway are very passionate about diesel and appreciate big trucks, and Indomitus certainly qualifies as such.”

Dave “Heavy D” Sparks and “Diesel” Dave Kiley, one half of Discovery’s “Diesel Brothers” foursome, participated in the race finale. The race was moved to Elko, Minn., after Hurricane Florence forced a change in venue from its original location in Myrtle Beach, S.C. More than 1,500 spectators attended the race.

“I’ve driven a lot of cool vehicles, raced in a lot of very competitive races, but this is unlike anything I’ve ever done,” Heavy D says.

MSR&PC also served as a sponsor for the Bandit Big Rig Series race.

“Indomitus continues to drive the conversation in promoting the use of biodiesel in Minnesota and beyond,” says MSR&PC CEO Tom Slunecka.
