Minnesota Ag in the Classroom (MAITC) is celebrating 30 years of educating teachers, students and others about agriculture.
The mission of MAITC is to increase agricultural literacy through K-12 education. They provide resources and training for farmers and other professionals to interact with K-12 teachers and students.
MAITC reaches an average of 135,000 students, 4,500 teachers and well over 700 schools each year in rural and urban areas. The organization also provides quality workshops tailored to the needs of current and future teachers.
The material taught meets Minnesota’s K-12 academic standards in social studies, nutrition, science and language arts.
The Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council (MSR&PC) invests in MAITC in order to keep agriculture relevant in rural and urban schools.
