New faces to join Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council

The Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council (MSR&PC) is pleased to announce the results of the 2015 MSR&PC elections, held through the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA).

Two new directors were elected to the  MSR&PC — Kris M. Folland, Halma, Minn., Districts 1, 2 & 3 and Cole Trebesch, Sleepy Eye, Minn., District 8. Gaining re-election were:  Jim Call, Madison, Minn., District 4; Jim Willers, Beaver Creek, Minn., District 7; Eric Thorn, Chatfield, Minn., District 9.

“Farmer involvement in any commodity organization is a time commitment,” said MSR&PC Chairman Paul Simonsen. “I’d like to thank all the farmers who committed time to this process. That includes producers who voted for a Council director, to the producers up for election, to the directors who will serve the next three years helping us make wise investments of Minnesota soybean farmers’ checkoff dollars.”

MSR&PC directors are voted on by producers within their districts. Council elections are held by MDA each year in March and April. Directors serve three-year terms with MSR&PC, beginning in June.
