North Dakota State University (NDSU) Student Research Days was April 8 and 9 at the Memorial Union, bringing together more than 250 undergraduate and graduate students to present their research and creative work.

Students delivered poster and oral presentations across all colleges, with support from faculty and industry evaluators. The event is a collaboration between the NDSU Office of Research and Creative Activity, Gamma Sigma Delta agricultural honor society and the Graduate Student Council.

The Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council (MSR&PC) provided support to Gamma Sigma Delta, NDSU chapter, to help recognize and encourage graduate student research in applied agriculture.

Sergio Cabello Leiva, MSR&PC research director attended the event and highlighted the quality of student work.

“Student Research Days was inspiring,” Cabello Leiva said. “Seeing so many student presentations in agricultural research shows a strong future for agriculture in the Midwest. I was especially impressed by the work in soybean breeding, herbicide tolerance and soybean food-grade quality. Supporting students is key to advancing soybean production in our region.”

The event also gives students the opportunity to connect with faculty, industry professionals and peers while sharing their work and building their role in the agricultural community.
