November 9, 2017 / Categories: Uncategorized

Minnesota Soybean issued a series of staffing announcements, CEO Tom Slunecka announced this week.

Doug Monson, a longtime Minnesota Soybean communicator, was named the organization’s director of public relations.

“Doug not only has an extensive background in journalism, he has also worked his way through Minnesota Soybean’s communications division,” Slunecka says. “In an ever-evolving media landscape, he is the ideal person to lead our public relations efforts.”

Monson, a native of Emmons, Minn., worked in newspapers before joining Minnesota Soybean, and has written an outdoors column for The Mankato Free Press. He lives in Mankato with his wife, Mollie, and their two sons, Tyler and Emmitt. He has been a communicator for Minnesota Soybean since 2013, and is currently the editor-in-chief of Soybean Business Magazine.

“I’m honored to be at the forefront of communication efforts on behalf of Minnesota’s soybean farmers,” Monson said. “While challenging, it is an exciting time to be part of the agriculture family.”

Harrison Weber joined Minnesota Soybean in August as a regional project manager. Earlier this week, Kristine Eustice was promoted to  senior accountant, and Slunecka also announced the hiring of Beth Roemhildt as an administrative assistant.

“2017 has been another incredible year for Minnesota Soybean,” Slunecka says. “We’re excited to reward Kristine and Doug for their dedication to our organization, and we are also pleased to welcome the newest members of our team as we look to 2018 and beyond.”
