Biodiesel Tax Incentive Efforts Dropped by Senate Negotiators

April 14, 2016 / Categories: Uncategorized

Senate negotiators have dropped efforts to add an expanded tax title to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) reauthorization bill currently pending in the Senate.

The hope was to expand and reform the biodiesel tax incentive to a domestic producer’s credit as part of the bill. A producer’s credit would eliminate the “import loophole.”

On April 14, Sen. Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, and Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., formally introduced an amendment to the FAA bill (Amendment No. 3655) to extend the tax incentive from 2017-2019 as a producer’s credit. The amendment may not be voted on now that negotiations over adding a broader tax package to the bill have stalled.

A webinar on the latest news on the biodiesel tax incentive will be available Tues. April 19. Click here to register.
