MN Soybean Proud to Support FFA Organization

National FFA Week kicks off Feb. 20-27

Each year FFA chapters, alumni and sponsors celebrate National FFA Week by sharing the importance of agriculture and hosting community-wide events to bring awareness to the long tradition that FFA holds. In celebration of National FFA Week, the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council (MSR&PC) is recognizing their partnership with FFA and continuing support of advocating for agricultural education.

MSR&PC has partnered with FFA on several state events and projects, including funding agricultural education for instructors, giving them knowledge and the tools to educate youth on Biodiesel. Biodiesel kits are explained and given to instructors for use in their own classrooms.

“We are proud to support FFA and their events,” said Chief Financial Officer Shannon Lawrence, who is staff lead for the Education action team. “FFA is a strong platform for youth education and cultivating leaders. With more than a half-million students involved in FFA, it is exciting to sponsor such a great organization.”

The MSR&PC also helps fund the Minnesota FFA Convention, helping bring quality speakers and resources to the event, as well as providing printed material and signage for the FFA Center-CHS Miracle of Birth Center at the Minnesota State Fair.

National FFA Week first began in 1948 and is held the week of George Washington’s birthday as recognition of his legacy as an agriculturist and farmer. FFA was founded in 1928 with an objective to prepare future generations for the agricultural industry.

MSR&PC is proud to support the Minnesota FFA Foundation and celebrate its weeklong tradition.
