FFA
As a proud sponsor of FFA, the Council (many of our directors are proud FFA alum) prioritizes supporting youth agricultural leaders exploring the many facets FFA has to offer. Previous checkoff investments in FFA include sponsoring two proficiency awards – Fiber and Oil Crop Production and Agriscience Research – Plant Systems – and hosting Soybean 101 for state and regional FFA officers. An educational opportunity, Soybean 101, gave the officers an inside look at Minnesota Soybean and the many aspects of the soybean industry.
4-H
MSR&PC allocates checkoff resources to the nation’s largest youth development program – 4-H. Minnesota’s extensive 4-H program supports nearly 40,000 youth every year, and checkoff funds have contributed to the 4-H Seed Science Discovery Program. We also proudly support 4-H and FFA’s specialized agricultural license plates on all Council vehicles.
MN Agriculture in the Classroom
Reaching more than 145,000 students each year, Minnesota Ag in the Classroom (MAITC) provides free curriculum, all of which is standards-based, to educators that supports their mission of increasing agriculture literacy in Minnesota education. MSR&PC has supported MAITC with checkoff funds for over 35 years, including investing in program subject support and transportation.
