Farmers wanted for UMN research projects

February 27, 2019 / Categories: Uncategorized

University of Minnesota Extension Agronomist Seth Naeve is looking for farmers to cooperate on several soybean research projects throughout the 2019 growing season. These projects are supported by the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council  and the North Central Soybean Research Program.

“On-farm research trials — whether conducted with small-scale research equipment or at a farm-scale — offer tremendous value for both researchers and farmers,” Naeve said. “It offers both parties an opportunity to gain knowledge that would be difficult or impossible to come by any other way.”

Naeve is searching for farmers who want to know more about:

1) Variable rate technology for soybean planting (populations)
2) Interactions between Soybean Cyst Nematode (SCN) and Iron Deficiency Chlorosis (IDC)
3) Yield effects of early planting and intensive management

Farmers who have questions or are interested in participating can email Naeve at naeve002@umn.edu.
