The Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council (MSR&PC) is so busy during the winter meeting season, it’s safe to say the Council is burning a serious path throughout the state and region. Next up for MSR&PC is the 2019 Prairie Grains Conference in Grand Forks, N.D.

Prairie Grains is two days of informative seminars, exhibits and breakout meetings featuring the latest in agriculture. The conference kicks off 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, and concludes Thursday, Dec. 12 at 3 p.m.

“The Prairie Grains Conference, in combination with the On-Farm Research Summit and associated Research & Reporting sessions, will bring the latest soybean and wheat crop production research, market analysis and climate adaptation results to the Red River Valley growers,” says MSR&PC Director of Research David Kee.

Some of the topics on the docket this year include a presentation by WDAY Chief Meteorologist John Wheeler, who will discuss “A Stormy September and a Tempestuous Debate: Making Sense of Weather and Climate.”

Minnesota Department of Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen will address attendees on Thursday, and Joe Sowers, regional vice president-Philippines & South Korea, U.S. Wheat Associates will give a global market update.

Wednesday at Prairie Grains is filled with research and organizational annual meetings. The On-Farm Summit opens the conference. Wednesday’s conference keynote speaker Mark Lindquist will present, “Passion! 8 Steps to Reignite Yours.”
