Top 10 reasons to attend MN AG EXPO

MN AG EXPO, the state’s premier indoor agricultural show, returns to the Mankato Civic Center on Jan. 22 and 23.

Hosted by the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association and the Minnesota Corn Growers Association, there is something for everyone at this free, two-day educational event and trade show.

Here are 10 quick reasons, in no particular order, why AG EXPO is the place to be in January:

10. Learn the latest in on-farm solar energy and how it can benefit your farm operation’s bottom line and the environment during the Blue Horizon Solar Energy Panel on Wednesday.

9.. Dr. Cindra Kamphoff’s 10 practices of high performances and positive mental thinking will help farmers take a fresh look at their operations during her address at Thursday’s “Food for Thought” luncheon.

8. Feeling festive? Come join the carnival at MSGA’s annual fundraiser Wednesday night from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Loose Moose Salon in downtown Mankato. As always with MSGA fundraisers, all proceeds benefit MSGA’s lobbying efforts in St. Paul and Washington, D.C.

7. Looking to make sure your family farm is protected? We’ve got you covered on the financial and legal side with sessions from Profinium’s Tim Miller and Gislason & Hunter.

6. With nearly 100 exhibitors representing every facet of the agriculture industry, from meat exports to seed selection to farm business management education, there is plenty to learn from our extensive list of exhibitors.

5. Don’t miss Michelle Miller, aka the Farm Babe, for an hour of agricultural myth busting during her Wednesday opening keynote address.

4. Visit the MSGA booth and speak with farmers about MSGA’s wins in 2019, its legislative priorities in 2020, and why it pays to join the advocacy organization.

3. After that, stop by the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council and University of Minnesota research booths and learn how about the latest in checkoff-funded research projects.

2. Feeling overwhelmed by the state of the ag economy? David Kohl will have some answers when he outlines how farmers can best position themselves to succeed in the economic reset during his speech Thursday morning on the trade show floor.

1. 2020 is primed to be a critical election season, at the state and national levels. In the heart of Minnesota ag country, numerous state and federal legislators are expected to attend AG EXPO. Stay tuned for announcements on elected officials scheduled to appear.
