Bigger and better: MN AG EXPO returning in January

MN AG EXPO is returning with a new agenda that promises to bring lasting connections and conversations among the agriculture community.

“We’ve been working hard this year to find new ways to engage with our industry and think differently about how to hold a successful trade show in 2023,” said Joe Smentek, executive director of the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association. “Our team has worked with our industry partners and sponsors to create a show that the farming community can learn from and have fun with.”

Minnesota’s premier indoor agriculture trade show returns Jan. 18-19, 2023, at the Mayo Clinic Health System Event Center in Mankato. The Minnesota Corn Growers Association, which co-sponsors MN AG EXPO, and MSGA will hold their annual meetings and finalize their 2023 policy resolutions on Wednesday, Jan. 18 and Thursday, Jan. 19, respectively.

Registration is now available. MN AG EXPO is free, but registration is required to ensure meal tickets.

The agenda is still being finalized, but EXPO has secured its Thursday keynote speaker: investment advisor Marissa Nehlsen of Freedom Financial Group. Nehlsen’s presentation will highlight overcoming adversity; money and mindset; and mastering what she calls the “core four”: tax, legal, risk and worth.

“We’re going to give farmers actual tools,” Nehlsen said. “When they walk away from my presentation, they’re going to have tools in the room – downloadable workbooks as well as physical workbooks where they can take this back – where they can build their team and use it with their team.”

Other panelists will also include a discussion on carbon credits, the upcoming Farm Bill; an MN Ag in the Classroom learning session; and nitrogen and water quality panels.

MSGA will also hold its annual fundraiser on the night of Jan. 18 at the Loose Moose Salon in Mankato. This year’s theme is “EXPO After Hours.” For $25, attendees can support MSGA, visit with farmer-directors, industry leaders and bid on silent auction items.

More details on MN AG EXPO and the fundraising event will be announced in the coming weeks.
