Hill Seeks MSGA Secretary Position

June 8, 2016 / by Chris Hill, MSGA board member Categories: Association News, Minnesota Soybean Growers Association

To our board members and all the members of Minnesota Soybean Growers Association (MSGA), I am seeking the position of Secretary of MSGA.

I have been on the MSGA board for a number of years. In that time I have grown as a leader and I am ready to grow upward with MSGA. Our organization is a great leader in ag advocacy, and it trains farmers to be great leaders. I’ve been offered the opportunity to attend leadership programs such as the Minnesota Ag Rural Leadership program and Syngenta’s Leadership at its Best program, both of which have given me additional tools to take the next step.

MSGA has been involved in many successes throughout my years. Yet we still have challenges ahead of us. I see water quality as playing a big role in Minnesota politics. We’ve already seen it with the buffers and we’re likely to keep seeing legislation that we will have to stay on top of in order to protect the rights of Minnesota soybean farmers.

In order to do this, we will need to focus on membership. We’re a strong membership organization but we can’t slip on that end of things. We need to grow our membership base and show the value of membership by concentrating our lobbying efforts on legislation that will positively impact Minnesota farmers.

I am asking for your support for MSGA Secretary.
