Farm Camp Minnesota organizers announced this week the dates for the Fourth Annual, 2015 Farm Camp, held at Farmamerica in Waseca, Minn.
The camp will be held Aug. 10 and Aug. 11, with campers able to sign up for one of the two days. The event allows campers the opportunity to learn about modern agriculture, where their food comes from, how it is grown and how farm products are used in our daily life. Each camper will have the opportunity to learn about various types of livestock and crop farms, including pork, beef, dairy, turkey, corn and soybeans. They will also learn about the equipment used in farming and they will each get a ride in a tractor.
Early bird registration is $10 per camper by Friday, June 12. The cost thereafter is $20 until registration closes Friday, July 24. Registration includes lunch, snacks, a free t-shirt, a tractor ride and a fun bag to take home! Space is limited.
For more information or to register, visit the Farm Camp Minnesota website at www.farmcampminnesota.org, call Crystal Paulson at 507-835-2052 or download a registration form and send via mail.
Farm Camp Minnesota continues to grow each year and organizers are looking forward to expanding the camp to other parts of the state in coming years.
“We would like to see Farm Camp Minnesota at other sites across the state of Minnesota so more children could have the opportunity to learn about modern agriculture and where their food comes from,” said camp organizer Kathy Guse.
Guse urged others interested in hosting a Farm Camp Minnesota site for 2016 to contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org.”
