Soybean directors and staff tour the new analytical lab

Representatives of Minnesota Soybean recently toured the newly-retooled analytical laboratory in the Crops Research building at the University of Minnesota.

Laboratory manager Brian Barber led Minnesota Soybean CEO Tom Slunecka, Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion (MSR&PC) Chairman Keith Schrader, Minnesota Soybean Growers Association (MSGA) President Paul Freeman and grower leader MSR&PC Director Paul Simonson on the lab tour.

Several newly-installed analytical machines, coupled with extensive lab employee training in their use, will enable the lab to better serve the needs of Minnesota soybean producers in the arenas of soybean constituent analysis, soil testing, water quality testing, and support of University of Minnesota researchers.

Following the laboratory tour, the group met with University of Minnesota’s Dr. Seth Naeve to discuss his proposed 2016 soybean research, some of which is supported by MSR&PC and the soybean checkoff.
