The Chippewa County Corn & Soybean Growers are once again investing in the youth in their county. The Chippewa County Fair is marked as a holiday to many active 4-H youth who exhibit livestock projects. At this past fair, the Chippewa County Corn & Soybean board sponsored the banners and showmanship awards for the 4-H livestock shows.

“The Chippewa County Fair is a highlight for the 4-H’ers in the area,” Chippewa County Corn & Soybean Growers Chair Mike Bosch said. “It was great to be able to sponsor the banners and utilize our checkoff dollars to help reward them for the amount of time and effort that they put into their projects.”

4-H is America’s largest youth development organization with nearly six million young people involved following the motto “to make the best better.”

“Sometimes their dedication goes unrecognized, but we see that they are the future leaders of the community,” Bosch said.

The Chippewa County Corn & Soybean Growers are committed to supporting both the 4-H and FFA programming within their county. As well as this sponsorship to the 4-H, the growers paired up with the FFA to promote soybeans within the FFA Barnyard on the fairgrounds. FFA members were able to create conversations with fairgoers through displaying 3-D soybean plants and literature.

The Chippewa County Soybean & Corn Growers Association is affiliated with the Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council, which oversees the investment of soybean checkoff dollars on behalf of approximately 26,000 farmers in Minnesota. The Council is governed by the rules of a federally mandated checkoff program that requires all soybean producers to pay a fee on the soybeans they sell. This money is used to promote, educate and develop market opportunities for soybeans.
