MSGA, MSR&PC set to make connections at Commodity Classic

After last year’s record-breaking event in Denver, Commodity Classic returns to San Antonio in 2026, and a delegation of Minnesota soybean farmers will head to the Lone Star State to advocate for farm-friendly policies, engage and participate in soy checkoff-related meetings.
Celebrating its 30th anniversary, Commodity Classic offers more than 30 industry-leading education sessions designed to help growers make smarter decisions for their operation, along with over 500,000 square feet of exhibit space featuring agriculture’s latest technology, equipment and innovation. This year’s Classic offers:
- 400+ exhibitors showcasing breakthrough ag technology and solutions that boost farmer profitability
- 30+ educational sessions covering precision agriculture, market trends, policy updates and proven strategies from successful farmers
- Unmatched networking with thousands of forward-thinking farmers and industry experts who understand your challenges
- Real solutions for farmers to implement on their operations immediately
“After a tough year in agriculture, I think we’re all looking forward to visiting with our colleagues from across the country and learn from each other on the challenges and issues we’re facing,” said Darin Johnson, president of the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association (MSGA) and American Soybean Association director. “Commodity Classic is a great place to reenergize for the growing season ahead, and I’m looking forward to seeing friends and colleagues from Minnesota and across agriculture.”
MSGA is bringing nearly 20 farmer leaders to participate in a Join State Caucus Feb. 25 in advance of the American Soybean Association’s (ASA) Delegation Session on Feb. 26, when growers from across the nation will debate and approve ASA’s 2026 policy resolutions. MSGA At-Large Director Andrew Mages will attend the second portion of ASA Corteva Agriscience’s Young Leader Program, while MSGA Vice President Ryan Mackenthun and Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council Director Rochelle Krusemark will be recognized at the Ag Leader Source Awards Feb. 27. Farmer leaders will also visit with South Dakota State University agriculture students, who are attending Classic thanks in part to checkoff support from MSR&PC.

MSGA delegates discuss national policies prior to ASA’s Delegate Session March 3, 2025, during Commodity Classic. MSGA will continue the conversation at the 2026 Classic.
Throughout the 2026 Classic, grower leaders will visit with industry partners, regulatory leaders and farming peers. Directors and staff from MSR&PC are also attending Classic to meet with industry stakeholders and participate in national meetings with checkoff groups, including the United Soybean Board (USB), U.S. Soybean Export Council, Soy Excellence Center, WISHH, Soy Transportation Coalition and North Central Soybean Research Program. Both USB and ASA will also have booths on the trade show floor. The Commodity Classic agenda includes panels on the connection between the soy checkoff and animal agriculture; policy outlooks; a mental health discussion; and ASA’s annual Awards Celebration.
Established in 1996, Commodity Classic is presented annually by ASA, the National Corn Growers Association, National Association of Wheat Growers, National Sorghum Producers and the Association of Equipment Manufacturers. Commodity Classic was last held in San Antonio in 2020.
