Advocacy

The Minnesota Soybean Growers Association is made up of members and farmer leader volunteers who speak out on behalf of soybean farmers and Minnesota agriculture.

Advocacy, based on our grassroots involvement from members and counties, is an intricate part of our legislative efforts. MSGA’s advocacy efforts are supported by our Director of Public Affairs and two lobbyists in St. Paul. Our efforts in Washington D.C. are done in conjunction with the American Soybean Association and their national lobbying team.

By leveraging our members, farmer leaders, staff, lobbyists and online advocacy tools, we are able to ensure soybean farmer’s voices and issues are at the table year-round.

Meet the MSGA dynamic duo lobbyists

Not all dynamic duos need an office.

Sure, Batman and Robin had the Bat Cave, but when your office is the Minnesota Capitol and the nearby Senate Building, it’s better to have a good pair of shoes than a cape.

Cory Bennett and Andrew “A.J.” Duerr are the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association’s (MSGA) equivalent of a dynamic duo. Both took different routes to the Capitol, but now work side-by-side as the official lobbyists for Minnesota soybean farmers.

MSGA Bulletin sign up

Throughout the legislative session, the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association sends a weekly legislative recap every Friday, exclusive to MSGA members. This email newsletter gives an overview of what happened in St. Paul that week, as well as other pertinent information for our members.
