Jake Chisholm has been invested in MSGA since before he was old enough to vote.

The 24-year old joined the nation’s largest soybean membership organization when he was just 17 and serving as a soybean “Ag Ambassador.”

“I think being in the policy and legislative arena is important to all farmers,” says Chisholm, who serves as secretary of the Norman County Corn and Soybean Growers. “Our experiences and input are vital to help shaping policy that benefits Minnesota’s soybean growers.”

Jake farms with his brother, Nick; father, Bill; and grandfather, Keith. His fourth-generation farm near Ada, Minn., has been in the family for nearly 120 years. The Chisholm’s grow soybeans, spring wheat, sugar beets, kidney beans and corn on their 4,600-acre farm in Norman County.

“Farming is in our blood,” Chisholm says. “There’s nothing else I’d rather be doing.”

Chisholm likes knowing that when he’s out in the field, his investment in MSGA is paying dividends.

“It’s a great organization to a be a part of,” he says. “I knew that even when I was only 17.”
