The Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council (MSR&PC) held officer elections in conjunction with their board meeting June 15. With only two positions re-elected, two new officers were selected to serve in leadership roles.
Keith Schrader of Nerstrand, Minn., was re-elected as Chairman and Eric Thorn of Chatfield, Minn., was re-elected as Secretary. New officers include Vice-Chairman Pat O’Leary of Benson, Minn., and Treasurer Cole Trebesch of Springfield, Minn.
“It is an honor to be re-elected as chair,” Schrader said. “I look forward to continuing with the projects and investments we have made. I am excited to see what new ideas jump off the page in this next year, and I’m ready to take a little risk when it comes to making Minnesota’s soybean farmers more profitable.”
MSR&PC also recognized Paul Simonsen, Renville County, and Vernon Pooch, Pope County for their many years of service as Council members on behalf of Minnesota soybean farmers. Both Pooch and Simonsen retired at the June 15 board meeting.
MSR&PC is the elected board of soybean producers from Minnesota who direct investments of the state’s checkoff dollars in programs designed to increase profitability to Minnesota soybean farmers.
